Mrs. Lois Margerite Nipkau passed away October 12, 2006 at the age of 87. Mrs. Nipkau was born in Berkley, California on April 5, 1919 and moved to Lodi in 1938. Lois worked with her husband, Fred Nipkau, on their ranch West of Lodi until after his death in 1974. She then became active with the Senior Citizen's Club of Lodi, The Loel Center and AARP. She created an exercise program for the Lodi seniors at The Loel Center and participated in its delivery for many years. She loved to dance and enjoyed attending events at seniors groups in Lodi. Mrs. Nipkau is survived by her sister, Grace Alex of El Cerrito, three daughters, Lois Adele Nipkau of McKinleyville, Jo Ann Bonilla of Lodi, June Farmer and husband, Jim Farmer from Douglas City, CA; her grandchildren, William Barry Moreland, wife, Lori, Julie Moreland and husband Steve Petersen, Moss Nipkau, Joyce Brody and husband Arthur, Janet Culp and husband Guy, Elizabeth Lira and husband, Terry Klemm, Gina Cooke and husband, Robert, Angie Palmer and husband, John; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Her husband, Fred J. Nipkau and her brothers, Faraday Tabler of Alameda and Frank Tabler of San Leandro, CA, preceded her in death. Graveside services will be held Friday, October 20th, 11:00 a.m. at Lodi Memorial Cemetery on Pine Street in Lodi. There is no visitation.
