Melvin Wagner, a long-time resident of Lodi passed away in Lodi at the age of 74 on November 2, 2006. He was born in Harvey, N.D. on January 28, 1932 to George and Rose Wagner. He moved to the Lodi area when he was eighteen years old. Melvin was a man who loved his family dearly. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, boating, and he was an avid 49'er fan. He loved the car business, used cars was his passion. He sold both used and new for 45 years. He had a very good long-time friend, Les Yates, who spent time with him when he needed help. He also loved his dog, Joey, who was his companion. He is survived by his loving wife, Marlena Wagner, of Lodi; daughters, Candy (Sam) Holloway of Anchorage, Alaska, Susan Stapleton of Lodi, Melody Weston of Woodbridge, Wendy (Ron) Weiss of Lodi and LaRhonda Wagner of Lodi; son, David Dietz of Lodi; 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great -grandchild. He was preceded in death by his son, Rick Wagner. A chapel service will be held on Friday, November 10, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. There is no visitation, and committal is private at Cherokee Memorial Park. Memorial remembrances may be made to The American Heart Association, 1212 W.
