Obituary of Norma Jean Caldwell

Norma Jean Caldwell, 69, of Lodi went home to the Lord on November 15, 2006. She was born on August 14, 1937 in Tripp, South Dakota to John and Olga (Reimann) Huether. She moved to Galt, California with her family in December of 1952. She attended Galt High School and graduated in 1956. After graduation, she married Walter Caldwell at the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in 1957. She went to work for Mather Air Force Base in Sacramento, worked at Super Mold in Lodi, and worked at Burton Shoes as the bookkeeper for many years. In 1974, they moved to Lodi, California where they operated several successful convenience stores in the Lodi/Stockton area. She was an active member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church for 48 years and thereafter has been a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church of Lodi. She was a Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir and was a life member of the Deborah Circle at the Galt Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and especially spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her beloved husband, Walter Caldwell of 49 years; dear daughter, Kimberly Caldwell of Lodi; beloved sister, Marlene Strapp of Galt and husband LaDon; beloved brother, Curtis Huether of Parkston, South Dakota and wife, Gail and many nieces and nephews, who all loved her so dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Olga Huether. Friends are invited to visit Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and Monday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Lodi. Committal services will immediately follow at Galt-Arno Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund at the Emanuel Lutheran Church.
