Obituary of Elva Aletha Hart Gibson

Elva Aletha Hart Gibson, age 94, died on November 17, 2006 at Lodi, California. Elva was born August 24, 1912, on the Hart Ranch on Mackville Road, north of Clements to Albert M. Hart and Alma V. Ringer Hart, both of who were born in this area of California. On January 21, 1933, she married Clyde M. Gibson, also a native of Clements to whom she was married fifty years. She worked at his side tending their vineyards and walnuts ? leading a quiet satisfying life and enjoying their family. Elva loved to bake, and visitors almost always went home with bread or cake. She expressed her artistic side in oils and watercolors, in song accompanied by her guitar, and in poetry and prose. She is survived by her sister Shirley Mills of Lodi. Also surviving are her children Donald (and Gayle) Gibson and Marilyn Shively of Clements; six grandchildren, Mark (and Jodi) Shively, Bethany (and Bob) Besore, Shawn (and Laura) Shively, Shelly (and Tim) Martin, Gregory (and Lisa) Gibson, and Bryan (and Karen) Gibson. She also leaves 15 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Cousins Warren Olson, Elsie Dellamandola, Norman (and Joan) Ringer, and Virginia Antrobus, and many nieces and nephews and beloved friends also mourn her loss. Elva was pre-deceased by her husband, Clyde M. Gibson, her sister, Dolores Questo, and her son-in-law, Bill Shively and many cousins. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Bible Church, 18621 N. Highway 99, Acampo. There is no visitation, and committal is private. Donations may be made to a favorite charity.
