My fondest memory of Mr. Schumacher is when I had started working at the Bank for only 2 of the 3 weeks that I was assigned as a temp. Coming down the staircase, I passed Mr. Schumacher in the hallway and he commented, "Hi Linda, how are you today ?" I acknowledged the day & went directly to my supervisor and asked who he was, . . . because, I had no clue. I have been impressed from that day, that he knew me before I even knew who he was. Every time I saw him and Phyllis in town, or out for dinner, he would make a special effort to recognize me and ask if I had met his wife, Phyllis (we were reintroduced many times). When I found out that Mr. Schumacher was to be recognized as the Boy Scouts Distinguished Citizen of the Year in 1996, I volunteered to chair the silent auction (this ultimately led to my current involvement on the Yosemite 49er Council, Executive Board of Directors for the 5th year). It is with great honor, that I had the opportunity to know him and appreciate his integrity, sincerity, wit, and personality. Thank you, Mr. Schumacher for all you did for me, the Bank (I am a shareholder) and this community. You were definitely a Lodi Icon. Sincerely, Linda Looper VP & Controller Finance Department Oak Valley Community Bank

I've known Harry and his family all my life (50+ years). My father and mother, Otto and Mildred Hintz (both now with the Lord), knew Harry and Phyllis through St. Peter Church and F & M Bank as both my mother and father worked for F & M. My Dad worked for F & M all his working life. Until Harry's death, every time I would see him or talk with him I couldn't help but think of my Dad and times we had with the Schumacher family at the F & M picnics. Ah. . . .the good old days. I will miss seeing Harry in Church but I know he is in the presence of our Loving Father and will never ever again feel pain or sadness. Praise Him, Praise Him, our Lord and Savior. All who fall asleep in the Lord will live FOREVER WITH HIM!

Harry's family legacy will be carried out through his family. He was a man of the Lord and His principles, though I only met him a couple of times when he visited First Covenant Church many years ago. Love to Dean, Donna, Melissa and Elaine, Pam Allington

Harry was all and more of the rememberances. I knew Harry when Iworked from 1949-50 at F&M before marrying Mickey Moore's brother. He has impressed since then. It was in 1979 while Mickey was in Ireland that their father died. It was Harry who stood beside me to help me obtain important papers from Mickey's safe deposit box. Maybe he did that for others, but that one memory as well as many others will always be with me and the family. Marilyn Moore and family

We have known the Schumacher family for many years. Harry has always been a person who has been interested in others and their well-being, a leader in the community, and a Christian example to those who knew him. Jan remembers how her mother had just bought a new blouse and how Harry admired it on her after church one Sunday. She was so pleased that he noticed. Tom remembers how Harry helped him out when he was new at St. Peters. He had some problems with a check for his teaching and Harry advanced him the money he needed. Lisa remembers how she interviewed Harry for a class she was taking and how much more she admired him after talking to him at length and truly getting to know him. He was a blessing to so many and he will be missed. May God bless the family and may He continue to uplift them with the special memories and love Harry gave them.

Hello Phyllis. Sorry to hear about Harry's demise and pain near the end. I was just one short chapter in Harry's rise toward the top. I felt much more for him than he did for me. I was just a kid without much knowledge. But he treated me well and I always blessed him for that. I sorry you'll be alone now. I'll be 79, Jan 7 but never realized Harry was 7 yrs my elder. As you may note JOyce and I now live in Stockton. If there is anything I can do for you you've only just to phone me or Email. Cheers to you and Dean. Bye for now, Wayne __________________________________

I will always remember Harry form both the bank and church. I was sorry to hear of Harry's passing, yet we know he is in the Lord's hand. Respect is the beginning of a list of words that come to mind when thinking of Harry, along with thoughtful, committed, tough and compassionate. I know that my life has been blessed to have known him.
