Obituary of Antonio Silveira Simoes

Antonio Silveira Simoes of Lodi passed away in Lodi on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at the age of 67. Mr. Simoes was born in the Azores on June 26, 1939 to Antonio, Sr. and Genuina Silveira Simoes. He served in the Azorian Army in Angola from 1959-1960. He came to the United States in 1965. He was self-employed as a dairy owner for at least 30 years. He was semi-retired. Mr. Simoes enjoyed traveling, clubs and his dairy, but his greatest love was his family and friends. He will be so dearly missed by all who loved him. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, past president of Immaculate Conception of Stockton, Lady of Fatima of Thornton, and S.E.S. of Elk Grove. He was also a member of St. Elizabeth's Church of Sacramento, St. Bernard's Church of Tracy and many other organizations. Mr. Simoes is survived by his beloved wife, Marie Alice Simoes of Lodi; one sister, Marie de Lucles Pires and husband, John Pires of Corona, CA and two brothers, Francisco "Frank" and wife, Fatima Simoes of Corona, CA and Fernando and wife, Juliana Simoes of Galt; fourteen nieces and nephews, John, Lucy, Diana, David, Anna, Frank, Clarissa, Stephanie, Eugenia, Eusebio, Luly, Silvina, Fatima and Eduardo and extended family; five Godchidren, Clarissa, Eusebio, Frances, Eddie and Xavier; three sisters-in-law, Maria de Silva, Teresa Rodrigues and Felicidad Pita. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, John Simoes and Joe Simoes. Friends are invited to visit Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be recited on Wednesday at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne?s Catholic Church.
