Lloyd E. Meidinger of Lodi, passed away in Lodi on December 20, 2006 at the age of 81. Mr. Meidinger was born in Ashley, North Dakota on June 10, 1925 to Emil and Hulda Fye Meidinger. He moved to this area in 1946, finally settling in Lodi in 1951. He moved to Galt in 1997, and eventually returned to Lodi. Mr. Meidinger worked as a butcher, having worked for Victor Brand Meats as well as Safeway for over 50 years. He enjoyed golfing, working with his gardening service after his retirement, and dancing the polka, but most importantly, he loved to be with his family, particularly his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. This made him so very happy. He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, past member of the Dakota Club, Eagles, Moose Lodge, the Elks and a Partner for the Lodi Police Department. He is survived by his three daughters, Shirley (Steve) Gunn of Lodi, Diane (Dennis) Moresco of Stockton and Sandy Deutscher of Lodi; six grandchildren, Kim Halligan, Eddie Escobedo, Ryan Garrette, Dennis Deutscher, Laree Arreola and Krissy Knutson; twelve great-grandchildren; sister Arlene Rudolph and brother, Vernon Meidinger, both of North Dakota. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lydia Meidinger in 1999; four brothers, Jackie, Virgil, Kenny and Norman Meidinger and sister Joyce. Friends are invited to visit Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. A chapel service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. Committal will immediately follow. Memorial remembrances may be made to First Baptist Church, 267 N. Mills Avenue, Lodi, CA 95240.
