LaVose Ruth Watson passed away in Lodi on January 2, 2007 at the age of 83. Mrs. Watson was born in Stanton, Iowa on March 22, 1923 to Ralph and Viola Lungren. She grew up in Red Oak, Iowa and left to work at the Martin Bomber Plant in Omaha, Nebraska where the Enola Gay was being built. She met James A. Fulton and married on March 17, 1945. They moved to Chicago, Illinois where their daughter Joan was born in 1947. James Fulton died when Joan was 11 days old. LaVose then returned to Nebraska where she met and married Jerry T. Watson on May 22, 1951. She lived in Omaha working for Royal Globe Insurance until her retirement. She and Jerry retired to Galt in 1988 where Jerry was raised. LaVose enjoyed her grandchildren, volunteering at Lodi Hospital, participating in two Red Hat Societies and eating lunch and visiting with her many close friends. Mrs. Watson is survived by her daughter Joan (John) Demgen of Reno, three granddaughters, Jennifer (Thomas) Flint of San Francisco, Megan (Scott) Smith of Silverthorne, Colorado and Elizabeth (Chip) Lyles of Reno. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, January 12, 2007 at St. Anne's Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. in Lodi. Committal is private, and there is no visitation. A reception will follow at the Heritage Park Clubhouse in Galt, 700-2nd Street. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Lodi Unit, 207 East Alpine Avenue, Stockton, CA 95204.
