Obituary of Betty Sabine

Family and friends will miss Betty Sabine, who passed away Friday at the age of 79. She was the eldest of the four daughters of Tiny and Ovie Beeler. She was born in Lawton, Oklahoma and lived in many different places in the United States, including Fairbanks, Alaska and New York City. She moved back to Lodi in 1968 and lived there the remainder of her life. Betty was a devoted wife and homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and was an excellent cook. She and her husband Truman traveled several times after retirement and she particularly enjoyed their trip to New England in the fall of 1990. Betty joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1961 and remained a devout member throughout her life. She served a stake mission for her church and was a children?s primary teacher and primary secretary for many years. Betty is survived by two sisters: Sherry Howard of Stockton and Joyce Ruble of Oroville. She is also survived by her children: Suzanne Berringer of Turlock; Chris Stock and his wife Gayleen, of Lodi; Paul Stock of Hineston, Louisiana; and Shanna Wagstaff and her husband Brett, of Patterson. She has eleven grandchildren: Jason, Brandi, Cassandra, Jodi, Tiffany, Nicholas, Evan, Denham, Joshua, Thomas and Julia; and seven great-grandchildren: Corey, Ashley, Eric, Tim, Katie, Tyler, and Davis. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Helen Brunson, and her husband Truman Sabine. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 731 North Ham Lane, in Lodi. Committal will immediately follow at Cherokee Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Lodi Funeral Home.
