Joe Yutaka Nishikawa of Lodi passed away in Lodi on January 18, 2007 at the age of 83. Mr. Nishikawa was born in Woodbridge, California on June 7, 1924 to Sakuichi and Yukuno Nishikawa. He was raised in this area and worked in farming for 35 years before retiring. He served during WWII in the 442nd Regiment in the U.S. Army from 1944-1946. He was a member of Lodi Buddhist Church. Mr. Nishikawa enjoyed fishing and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Keiko Nishikawa of Lodi; two step-daughters, Doris Sachi Borman of Nevada City and Doreen Michiye Juanitas of Newark; two grandsons, Jarrod and Trevor; brother, Eddie M. (Betty) Nishikawa of Auburn and sister Ami (Jimi) Watanabe of Linden. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Masao, George and Masami Nishikawa and sister, Dorothy Haruye. A memorial service was held on Sunday at Lodi Funeral Home. There was no visitation. Committal will be private at Lodi Memorial Cemetery.
