Obituary of Robert DiPiero

Robert DiPiero, a long-time resident of Acampo, passed away in Lodi at the age of 69 on Friday, January 19, 2007. Mr. DiPiero was born in Santa Cruz, California on February 23, 1937 to Armando and Dorothy DiPiero. He served in the U. S. Marines. On December 26, 1967, Robert married Eda (Edie) Marie Fomasi. They have resided in this area for the last 38 years. Mr. DiPiero and his wife owned and operated Ruhl's Bakery in Stockton from 1972-1986. Before retiring, he was the meat cutting supervisor at Mule Creek State Prison. Mr. DiPiero was a member of St. Joachim Catholic Church, Ione Masons and S.T.A.R.S. He was also a volunteer fireman with Liberty Fire District some years ago. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and horses, but most importantly, he loved to spend time with his family, particularly his grandchildren. Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Edie DiPiero of Acampo; sons, Robert Michael and wife, Amalia DiPiero of Stockton and David Anthony DiPiero of Lodi; three grandchildren, Emily Nichole, Robert Michael, Jr., and Anthony Basilio; daughter-in-law, Lisa Marie DiPiero of Lodi; two brothers, Bill and wife, Janice DiPiero and Francis DiPiero, both of Santa Rosa and sister, Dianna and husband, Dave Podva of Pleasant Hill. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Lockeford with Father Kelly officiating. There is no visitation, and committal will be private.
