Obituary of Rose Marie Machado Toste

Rose Marie Machado Toste passed away in Acampo on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at the age of 43. Rose Marie was born in Escalon, California on September 6, 1963 to Manuel and Rose Machado. She grew up in Lodi, attending local schools and graduated from Tokay High School in 1981. She was the owner of Creative Catering by Rose Marie for 16 years. She enjoyed boating and water sports, the ocean, especially trips to Bodega Bay, shopping and jewelry, but her greatest love was taking care of her beloved family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. She will be so very dearly missed by her family and many friends. She belonged to S.E.S. Council #76, Our Lady of Fatima Society in Thornton, having been Senior Queen in 1980-81. Rose Marie is survived by her husband, Orlando Toste of Acampo; two daughters, Lisa Marie Machado and Judy Marie Machado, both of Acampo; parents, Manuel and Rose Machado of Lodi; grandmother, Filomena Machado of Lodi; five step-children, Orlando Toste, Jr. of Galt, Diane Silveira of Elk Grove; Rosemary and husband, Johnny Rocha of Escalon, David and wife, Laura Toste of Elk Grove and Nancy Toste and fianc, Justin Handford of Elk Grove; six grandchildren, Samantha, Ashley, Krysten, Stephanie, Megan and Lindsay; sister, Nancy and husband, Rich Richter of Galt; niece and nephew, Sarah Rose and Steven Richter; brother, Manuel Machado, Jr. of Lodi and loved by many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Antonio Machado and twin sons, Manuel and Alvaro Machado. Friends are invited to visit Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home and Monday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be said on Monday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church. Committal will immediately follow at Lodi Memorial Cemetery. Memorial remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society, Lodi Unit, 207 East Alpine Avenue, Stockton, CA 95204.
