For 14 months I had the privilege of working with Michelle at Coventry Park. Every day was a celebration of the life of everyone who lives there. Michelle was a dedicated professional who tirelessly worked and put her heart into the welfare of the residents. She was spontaneous, cheerful, thoughtful, beautiful and inspiring. All of our collaborations were about how to make things better. She believed deeply in her work and its effects and our memories of her will live forever. My love and condolences to her family and friends.

To Michelle's family, My family and I want to express our sincerest sympathy during this difficult time. You have lost a beautiful, creative, patient, kind and caring person, and we know she'll be truly missed. Our father is a resident at Coventry Park, and we had chosen Coventry because of the wonderful program Michelle had created there. She touched so many lives in ways that you will never know. Although we only knew her over the past year and a half, we will always remember her for the kindness she showed to us, to our father, and to everyone she worked with.

Today, I celebrate Michelle and all of the wonderful memories that she has given to me and so many others. She will forever have a place in my heart. Love you, Shell.

Steve and Family, I am so heart broken for your loss. Not to long ago I came out to visit Adale; and Steve and Michelle welcomed us onto their boat and we had drinks, listened to Allison Krauss and Michelle made us cookies. I have thought of that time quite a bit since then and what a great time it was. You are in my thoughts and in my prayers. Your friend in Utah

I read the sfgate obituaries to see if any of my former geriatric clients have died--I was shocked to see Michelle's picture there. I worked with her for a couple of years at the Institute on Aging, first as her supervisor and later as a colleague. She was a radiant light, so compassionate and a simply kind and loving person. She was a gifted counselor. My heart goes out to Steve--I send my deepest sympathy to you and the family.

Steve, I'm so very sorry for the loss of your lovely wife. I can't imagine what a horrible time this must be for you and your family. When I lost my mom 4 years ago, and my dad this past year, the words I found most comforting were: "It's not the number of breaths you take in a life time, but the number of times that life takes your breath away." I konw Michelle had many, many of those. Sending you warm thoughts, Marcy Kawadler

Steve, Maxine and family, I'm so very sorry for your loss. I only met Michelle a few times, but she was always so sweet to everyone. I could tell she was a very warm person and knew she was very loviing by the way Maxine always talked about her. I was planning on going to the funeral, however, I'm going to be out of town this weekend. You're in my prayers. Sincerely, Raine Cruz

I met Steve and Michelle last year for the first time at the holiday party at the yacht club. You guys were such a cute couple and great hosts. I couldn't believe you lived on a boat.

To Steven and the family, I am deeply sorry for your loss. I did not know Michelle but reading about her in the newspaper made me feel for your loss. I lost my boyfriend of 5 and a 1/2 years to a car accident too a few years ago. If you would like to, Hospice of San Joaquin offers grief support groups that meet once a week for six weeks. It is very helpful and I have attended one. I am very sorry and can only hope that she is with God right now and that you will all feel the comfort of God's love in the coming days. God bless you.

There are only a few people who touch you in such a special way, and Michelle was one of those people. Maxine and I talked many times about what a special person she was. Whenever I saw her she always made a point of talking to me and making me feel like I had something important to say. She was made for Steve and my heart goes out to him. She will always be in his heart and will always be remembered by those of us left behind.

My deepest sympathy to all of Michelle's family. Michelle was a fun loving person! I remember her and Jamie being friends in High School and how they continued their friendship once they left Tokay High. They came to each other's wedding and she was such a happy person. I believe Michelle must have lived each day to the fullest. All recollections I have, while diving with her, include laughter. She was the most fun-loving person. My memory of her to be shared and passed on is her constant efforts to do a reverse dive. This is one thing we would all remember from that year. She never ever gave up. We always laughed at her attempts. But she eventually got it. Her freedom, friendliness, and dedication I'm sure carried her far. I have no doubt that a family stays together... I hope that you can have comfort in knowing she is not far and awaits that time she can be reunited with you all.

my heart breaks to hear that michelle is gone. steve, i remember you both well despite our aquaintance being a brief one. I worked at the institute on aging when michelle was an intern on the Suicide Prevention hotline -- a role she was stellar in. i can't imagine anyone who radiated a purer more positive light than michelle. i am glad to know the dream of a houseboat came true. that laugh and that smile of hers will never go away. she was a fully realized person.

Michelle was an invaluable staff member at Coventry Park in San Francisco. She was adored by my aunt, Toshi, a resident at Coventry Park. Michelle always had a smile and a kind word for each resident. She cared deeply about their well being. She was always attentive to any request I had on behalf of my aunt. She was respected and admired by all. We will miss her so very much, but her memory will live on in all of our hearts. Sincere condolences to Steve and her entire family.
