Ruby Hopcroft, a long-time resident of Lodi, passed away in Lodi at the age of 97 on March 14, 2007. Mrs. Hopcroft was born in Keota, Oklahoma on February 26, 1910 to Henry and Laura Akins. She left Oklahoma in 1944, settled in Hollister and then moved to Lodi in 1961. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and reading, but most importantly, she loved her children and grandchildren. She was a member of First Baptist Church She is survived by four children, Jack Harp of Seaside, Cecil Harp of Lodi, Mary Lee Recht of Hollister and Rocky Lothian of Portland, Oregon; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two brothers, David Akins and Jimmy Akins, both of Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her sister, Beulah Osborn. Friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Lodi Memorial Cemetery. There is no visitation.
