Obituary of George Richard Gould

George Richard Gould of Lodi, formerly of the Contra Costa area, passed away in Lodi on March 6, 2007 at the age of 86. Mr. Gould was born in Stuart, Oklahoma on July 20, 1920 to Virgil and Ruth Gould. He moved to California in the 1940's, and he married LaVerne. After WWII, having served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific from 1942-1945, they settled in California in the Bay Area. He moved to Lodi over three years ago to be near his daughter. He enjoyed church and socializing in church. He was a retired carpenter. Mr. Gould is survived by his son, Ronald Gould of Oklahoma; daughter, Connie (Ralph) Scott of Lodi; seven grandchildren, Debbie, Richard, Annette, Robert, Ronald, Jr., Kimberly and Kristi; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, LeRoy (Pauline) Gould and Junior Ole Gould, both of Oklahoma and one sister, Christine Bowman, also of Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, LaVerne Gould, February 10, 1992 and one grandchild, Alex Gould. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 21st at noon at Rolling Hills Memorial Park in Richmond. There is no visitation.
