Obituary of Rebeca Paz Vargas

Rebeca Paz Vargas of Lodi, passed away in Lodi at the age of 55 on Wednesday, April 4, 2007. She was born in Mexico on March 18, 1952 to Gabriel and Esther Vargas. They came to the United States when she was 14 years old, moving to Lodi in 1966. She worked for Scientific Specialty (SSI) in Lodi until 2003. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and making people laugh with her great sense of humor, but most importantly, she loved and cared for her family. She will be so very missed. She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. Rebeca is survived by her three daughters, Rebeca (Luis) Lua of Stockton, Teresa (fianc, Eric) Gomez of Vacaville, Ana (Arturo) Ambriz of Rancho Cordova and son Adrian (fiance, Anissa) Gomez of Stockton; eleven grandchildren, Luis, Adrian, Alexander, Ruby, William, Adrian, Eddie, Adriana, Lilliana, Joseph and Arturo; five brothers, Alfonso (Maria) Vargas of Lodi, Roberto (Teresa) Vargas of Lodi, Rudy (Martina) Vargas of Lodi, J. Longinos (Alicia) Vargas of Lodi and Frank (Lisa) Vargas of Sparks, Nevada; sister, Luz Maria (Miguel) Gama of Mexico and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gabriel and Esther Vargas; two brothers, Abel and Francisco Vargas and two infant sisters, both named Marta Rosa Vargas. Friends are invited to visit Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church with committtal to follow.
