Obituary of Myrtle I. Frey

Myrtle I. Frey, a long-time resident of Lodi passed away in Lodi on April 18, 2007 at the age of 94. Mrs. Frey was born in Saskatchewan, Canada on August 25, 1912 to Charlie and Mamie Seibel. She moved to Lodi with her family when she was eight years old. She worked on the Gust A. Frey & Sons family farm with her husband. She did everything from keeping the books, packing fruit to riding a tractor. She was a wonderful German cook and baker. She enjoyed crocheting afghans, working with ceramics and embroidering kitchen towel sets for her family members. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and sister, and she will be dearly missed. Mrs. Frey is survived by her son, Larry G. (Linda) Frey, Sr. of Lodi; eight grandchildren, Debra (Ed Watson) Frey, Connie Pugh, Christy (Ken) Roberson, Debra Krahel, Brett (Kristine) Frey, Bart (Cindy) Frey, Larry Frey, Jr. and Ronnie Frey; fourteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gladys S. Mariani of Southern California and Winifred Baker of Sonoma and friend and caregiver, Lou Landrum. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gust A. Frey in June of 1974; two sons, Clarence C. Frey in February of 2006 and Leland G. Frey on April 7, 2007; grandson, Douglas S. Frey; three brothers, Elmer, Roy and Bud Seibel and sister Grace Hemphill. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 27th at 11:00 a.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. There is no visitation, and committal is private.
