Obituary of Lucy Jane Field Geist

Lucy Jane Field Geist, a longtime resident of Lodi passed away in Lodi on May 9, 2007 at the age of 106. Mrs. Geist was born in Forest City, Missouri to Andrew Jackson and Margaret Jane Ogden on October 14, 1900. She moved to California in 1936, settling in Lodi. She worked in the cannery and packing sheds for many years, retiring in 1965. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and most importantly, her family. Mrs. Geist was a member of Bethel Open Bible Church for many years. She is survived by her four sons, Rev. Paul (Vera) Field of Lathrop, John (Hazel) Field, Jr. of Stockton, James (Lynda) Field of Pioneer, Richard (Linda) Field of Modesto; one daughter, Lorraine (Harry) Goertzen of Lodi and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great- great and great-great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Field, Sr. and Adam Geist; two sons, Thomas G. and Marshall Field; daughter, Clara Field; four grandchildren, Kelly Field, Steven Goertzen, Jeffrey Field and Paul Field, Jr. Friends are invited to visit Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. A chapel service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with committal to follow.
