Obituary of Elizabeth Jane Myers
Please share a memory of Elizabeth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Elizabeth Jane Myers passed away suddenly on May 11, 2007, at the age of 88. She was born on September 20, 1918, in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Alfred and Cecil Fuller. Mrs. Myers graduated from Alameda High School, Class of 1935, and attended college at University of California, Berkeley. On March 15, 1942, Elizabeth married Lee Andrew Myers in Alameda. Shortly thereafter, Lee entered the Army, and while he was away, Elizabeth contributed to the war effort by working at Bethlehem Steel in the Bay Area. After the war, Lee and Elizabeth settled down and started a family. Elizabeth was very active in her children's lives, serving as PTA president for several terms. She was active in 4-H club and enjoyed being the official "Swim Team Mom." She was also a secretary for the UC Davis Farm and Home Advisors Office for 25 years. While in Red Bluff, Elizabeth was an active member at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, and when she came to Lodi in 1992, found a new church home at First United Methodist Church where she became involved with the United Methodist Women's Group and the Warm Hearts Senior Group. Elizabeth cherished her family and was a wonderful hostess for many large family dinners and gatherings. Most of all, she will be remembered as a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mrs. Myers is survived by her three daughters: Andrea (Bob) Kellar of Lodi, Sheryl Myers of Redding, and Donna (James) Westgate of Lodi; grandchildren: Jeff Kellar, Eric Stannard, Mark Stannard, Kristine Huerta, Ben Prince, Kellen Prince, Erin Elizabeth Westgate, and Lauren Westgate; and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 loving years, Lee Myers. Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Elizabeth's Life on Sunday, June 10 at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Lodi. There is no visitation and committal is private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Lodi Adopt-a-Child, 100 E. Pine Street, Lodi, CA 95240 or Animal Friends Connection Humane Society, P.O. Box 2314, Lodi, CA 95241.
