Obituary of Theodore Harold "Ted" Rosen

Ted Rosen, a longtime resident of Lodi, passed away in Lodi on May 21, 2007 at the age of 68. Ted Rosen was born Theodore Harold Rosen on September 30, 1938. He was born on a farm near New Leipzig, N. Dakota which was called Old Shibely Place. Ted had one sister, Deloris and two brothers, Larry and Don. The farm his family lived on had no electricity nor indoor plumbing. They used oil lamps at night to see by, and the radio was powered by a car battery. When he was ten years old, and in the fifth grade, the family moved into the town of New Leipzig. He went to school there until the tenth grade when the family moved to Lodi in October of 1953. Ted and Larry worked in a bakery after school to help support the family. Later Ted went to work for a tow truck and body shop. In 1960 or 1961, Ted bought Brackett's Garage. Ted married Vernetta Heinrich in September of 1957. He was a member of the Lodi Moose Lodge and the Eagles. He is survived by his two children, Marty (wife, Kimi) Rosen of Lodi, JoVon (husband, Kevin) Cadieux of Lodi; three grandchildren, Madison Rosen, Amy and Haley Cadieux of Lodi; brother, Don (wife, Brenda) Rosen of Rancho Cordova and companion, Betty Lee of Lodi. He was preceded in death by his father, Jacob Rosen in 1960; wife, Vernetta in 1999; oldest brother, Larry on July 3, 2002; sister, Deloris, August 1, 2005 and mother, Helen on May 25, 2006. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 25th at 10:00 a.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. Inurnment will immediately follow at Cherokee Memorial Park. There is no visitation.
