Obituary of Jim Joseph Brager

Jim Joseph Brager, Sr. was born November 4, 1920 in Los Banos, Ca. He passed away peacefully at home on June 6, 2007 surrounded by his family, he was 86. A longtime resident of San Jose, Jim worked as a Custodian for the Fremont Union High School District until his retirement at which time he and his wife Gilda moved to Lodi. He was well known for his sense of humor, was a member of the I.D.E.S., Portuguese Club, Festas do Espirito Santo, and Good Sam. He enjoyed traveling in his motor home, camping, fishing, NASCAR, the 49er's and the Giants, but his true joy was his family, especially his wife of 29 years, Gilda, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jim is survived by his wife Gilda Brager of Lodi, children; Rosemary Jinks and her husband George of Woodbridge, Delores Andersen of Tipton, Pat Boyer and her husband Doug of San Jose, Darlene Gilmore and her husband Tom of Tipton, Jim Brager, Jr. and his wife Sheila of Cool, Virginia McMahen of Los Angeles, Joann Azzarello and her husband Mike of Colfax, Judi Azzarello and her husband Alan of San Jose, and Gail Brager of Lodi. Step-Children; Frank and Susan Weinberg of San Jose, and Oswald Melo Braum of Portola. Brothers; Lowie Brager and his wife Thelma of Galt, William Brager and his wife Maria of Lodi, and Tony Brager and his Ann of San Jose, Sisters; Lou Luchetti of Vallejo, and Louise Mello and her husband Al of Modesto. 27 Grandchildren and 30 Great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; Tony and Maria Braga, Daughter; Geri McLeod, Brothers; Joe, John, Manuel, Frank and Arthur Brager, Sister; Mary Mello, and Grandson; Sean Azzarello. Friends may visit on Friday, June 8th from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. and are invited to attend Funeral Services on Saturday, June 9th, 11:00 a.m. at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Ave. Chaplain Tony Berry will officiate. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 207 E. Alpine, Stockton, CA. 95204
