Obituary of Jeanette Evelyn Vietmeier

Jeanette Evelyn Vietmeier of Lodi, passed away in Lodi on June 25, 2007 at the age of 91. Mrs. Vietmeier was born in Rockford, Iowa on June 21, 1916 to David Aeneas and Emma Maria Popham. She was raised in Rockford, and graduated from Rockford High School in 1934. She married Lloyd Harold Vietmeier on January 21, 1936 in Rockford. They moved from Iowa first to Moscow, Idaho, then to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1954, back to Idaho, then to Hillsboro, Oregon in 1958. They moved to Antioch, California in 1964, eventually settling in Lodi in 1972. She enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, landscaping, cooking and baking, but most importantly, she enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Vietmeier is survived by her son, David C. ( Barbara) Vietmeier of Lodi; daughter, Chris (Marvin) Vietmeier-McDonald of Ranier, Oregon; three grandchildren, Michael (Tina) Vietmeier, Michelle Vietmeier and Tracy (Tony) Felicetta; one great-granddaughter, Madeleine Vietmeier; three sisters, Gladys Green of Garden Grove, California and Geraldine "Gerry" Popham and Bonnie Popham, both of Lodi. She was preceded in death by husband, Lloyd Vietmeier in 1998 and two sisters, Mildred Dostart and Genevieve Willert. Friends are invited to visit Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. Committal will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 200 W. Oak Street, Lodi, CA 95240.
