Obituary of Vasillia "Billie" Manolakakis

Vasillia "Billie" Manolakakis of Hermosa Beach, formerly a long-time resident of Lodi, passed away in Los Angeles on June 14, 2007 at the age of 82. Mrs. Manolakakis was born in Samos Island, Greece on January 1, 1925 to Kyriakos and Triantaselia Tramontanas. She came to the United States in 1930,settling in Eureka, then Lodi, moving to Hermosa Beach seventeen years ago. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and sewing. She had been a member of St. Basil Greek Orthodox Church in Stockton. She is survived by her son, Joseph A. Manolakakis of Hermosa Beach; two sisters, Theodora (George) Halkias of San Francisco and Katherine Kokonas of Stockton; sister-in-law, Penelope Tramontanas of Lodi; three nephews, Kerry Tramontanas, George( Cindy) Tramontanas and Deno (Linda) Halkias; niece, Angelina (Alan) Keigley and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Manolakakis, brother, Gus Tramontanas; brother-in-law, Mike Kokonas and nephew, Nick Kokonas. The Trisagion and chapel service will be held at Lodi Funeral Home on Thursday, July 5, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Committal will immediately follow. There is no visitation. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions be made to St Basil Greek Orthodox Church, 920 W. March Lane, Stockton, CA 95207 or the American Cancer Society, Lodi Unit, 207 East Alpine Avenue, Stockton,, CA 95204.
