Obituary of Donald William DeVine

Donald William DeVine of Lodi passed away in Lodi at the age of 74 on August 23, 2007. Mr. DeVine was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on December 3, 1932 to Roetus and Lela DeVine. He moved to Tracy in 1960. He was an engineer for Southern Pacific Railroad for 32 years before he retired in 1990. After retirement, he moved to Coulterville to pursue his passion for gold mining. He then moved to Lodi in January, 2007. Mr. DeVine served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed prospecting and woodworking. When he lived in Tracy, he built Roto-Way Exec Helicopters to pursue gold mining in remote areas. He is survived by his son, Jeff DeVine of Lodi; grandchildren, Nicole DeVine (Kyle) Mraz, Joseph DeVine, Teresa DeVine and Jimmy DeVine; one great-grandson, Landon Michael Mraz; three sisters, Shirley Tolson of Oklahoma, Wanda (Burke) Johnson of Oregon and Edna Burke of Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa DeVine, son Mark DeVine and brother, Roetus DeVine, Jr. There is no visitation, and private services will be held at Sacramento Valley VA National Cemetery in Dixon.
