Mary Jo Brown, a long-time resident of Galt, passed away in Sacramento on August 30, 2007 at the age of 76. Mrs. Brown was born in Holly, Colorado on September 30, 1930 to Robert and Helen McComas. She moved to California, the Los Angeles area, in 1959. She then moved with her family to Galt in 1964 for a few years, then to Linden, and back to Galt in 1986. She worked at the Boys and Girls Club in Galt. She enjoyed sewing, cake decorating, gardening, cooking, and most importantly, her family, the center of her life. She is survived by her three daughters, Helen Floria of Galt, Barbara Thweatt of Stockton and Brenda Huiras of Sacramento; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Pearl Loper, Sarah Smith and Janet Bell, all of California and Carol Bloom of Oregon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Brown; son, Robert Gordon; grandson, Robert Charles Gordon; two sisters, Leota Cummings and Alice Neher and seven brothers. There is no visitation, and committal will be private at Galt Cemetery in Galt.
