Melitta Keller of Lodi, passed away in Lodi on September 1, 2007 at the age of 88. Mrs. Keller was born in Russia on February 13, 1919 to Wilhelm and Rosalie Ackermann. She married Jakob Keller on July 1, 1950 in Germany. They moved to the United States in 1951, first settling in Montana. They moved to Lodi in 1962 where she has since resided. Mrs. Keller worked as a seamstress for many years at a local cleaners. She was very talented in sewing and enjoyed cooking, particularly German food, painting, and music. She played the organ, piano and mandolin. She was part of a group band that played at rest homes. She was also very active in Emanuel Lutheran Church, having been a member for many years. Mrs. Keller is survived by her daughter, Trudy (Randy) Roehrich of Lodi; two grandchildren, Tom (Leticia) Roehrich of Lodi and Jenny (Kevin) Vondergeest of Lodi; one great-grandchild, Gabriel and nephew, Walter Koenig of Woodbridge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jakob Keller in 2002 and sister Augusta Koenig. Friends are invited to visit Wednesday from 8:00 a.m.until 8:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. Services will be held on Thursday, 10:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church. Committal will immediately follow. Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Keller's name to Emanuel Lutheran Church, 1540 W. Lodi Avenue, Lodi, CA 95242.
