Obituary of Richard J.E. Wiech

Richard J.E. Wiech of Lodi, passed in Stockton on September 6, 2007 at the age of 74. Mr. Wiech was born in Lafe, Arkansas to Werner and Julia Wiech on March 18, 1933. He served in the U.S. Air Force, retiring after twenty years of service with rank of Tech Sgt. He moved to Lodi in 1972 and was employed at General Mills and then for the City of Lodi as Superintendent of Building and Equipment Maintenance. He enjoyed traveling in his motor home throughout the United States visiting friends and relatives along the way. He enjoyed his "daily ritual" of meeting his friends for coffee at The Village and House of Coffees. The family thanks you so very much for all your kindness. Mr. Wiech is survived by his wife, Rose Mary Wiech of Lodi; daughter, Karen Irwin of Belton, Texas; two grandchildren, Heather McKeever and Kindra DuBose, both of Temple, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Ashton, Logan and Cole; two brothers, Larry and Allen Wiech and sister, Juanita Carner , all of Ohio. He was preceded in death by two sons, infant Craig Richard Wiech and Paul Richard Wiech. Friends are invited to visit from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Lodi Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Cherokee Memorial Park. A memorial service will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lodi at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Wiech's name to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 701 S. Pleasant Avenue, Lodi, CA 95240 or donor's choice.
