Obituary of Kari Jean Norwood Bodine

Kari Jean Norwood Bodine, of Lodi passed away in Lodi on October 9, 2007 at the age of 52. Kari Jean was born on March 12, 1955 in Newfoundland at a military base. Her family moved to Contra Costa County in 1956. In 1984, she moved to Lodi. She was a wonderful homemaker and gifted woman who enjoyed decorating and crafts; however, the focus of her life was her family and friends whom she so dearly loved and appreciated. She had a unique and great sense of humor and love of life. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, and she will be so very missed. Kari Jean is survived by her husband, Ben Bodine, of Lodi; two sons, William Boschke, III of Redding and Kyle Porter of Lodi; two grandsons, William Boschke, IV and Andrew Porter and a third grandchild on the way; father and step-mother, James and Lucy Norwood, Sr. of Mississippi; grandmother, Leona Norwood of Mississippi; brother, James Lewis (Lydia) Norwood, Jr. of Antioch; sister, Christi (Cotton) Roberts of Lodi; two nieces, Melissa and Samantha Roberts and uncle, Jerry (Dolly) Craig of Riverbank. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie Jean Fasilis, grandfather, William Cokely Norwood and grandmother, Bess Yowell. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Kari Jean's life at a memorial service on Thursday, October 18th, 11:00 a.m. at First Congregational Church, 230 Sacramento St., Rio Vista. Committal is private. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made in Kari Jean's name to UC Davis, Bone Marrow Research, 2315 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95817.
