Obituary of Rose S. Leonardini

Mrs. Rose S. Leonardini of Hayward and former resident of Lodi passed away Tuesday October 30, 2007 in a Hayward hospital at the age of 91. Mrs. Leonardini was born March 8, 1916 in Chicago, Illinois and was the 5th child of Luigi and Liboria Scaletta. Mrs. Leonardini worked as a secretary for the City of San Jose Planning Dept. for many years before retiring in 1978. Mrs. Leonardini previously lived in Rocklin, California as well as Central Point, Oregon, where she tutored reading to local students with learning disabilities. She was a member of St. Paul?s Catholic Church and Ladies Guild in Rocklin. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed attending local theater productions, traveling, needle work and maintaining communication with family and friends via the internet. She will be best remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by a son, Mark Leonardini and wife Denise of Hayward; 2 daughters, Kathryn Buford of Houston, Texas; Roberta Gannon and husband Robert of Oakland; a grandson John Michael Gannon of Oakland; 5 nephews, Judge Anthony Cristoforo, Phillip, Robert and Jeffery Litts, Anthony Bacceli, 4 nieces, Norma Timossi, Gloria Bonotto, Barbara and Patricia Scaletta. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert P. Leonardini in 2002, 2 brothers, Phillip and Sam Scaletta, 3 sisters, Anne DeCristoforo, Josephine Bacceli and Stella "Babe" Litts, 2 nephews, Louis Scaletta and Judge Joseph Cristoforo. A funeral mass will be held Friday November 2, 2007, 10:00am at St. Anne's Catholic Church, followed by a private interment. A rosary will be held Thursday 7:00 pm at Lodi Funeral Home and Visitation will be held Thursday 12:00-8:00 pm at Lodi Funeral Home.
