Obituary of Nina Mikan

Mrs. Nina Mikan of Lodi passed away Monday November 19, 2007 surrounded by her family in a Lodi hospital at the age of 89. Mrs. Mikan was born February 2, 1918 in Russia to Johan and Marie Wiedlich. Mrs. Mikan worked for Diamond Walnut Co. in Lodi for many years before retiring in 1983. Mrs. Mikan attended Emanuel Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening, knitting, cooking, helping with her grandchildren and spending time with family and friends. She will be best remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by a son Dieter Mikan of Lodi; a daughter, Gerlinde Gonsalves of Stockton; 4 grandchildren, D. J. Mikan of Lodi, Gregory, Blake and Brian Gonsalves all of Stockton; 1 great grandson, Ryan Gonsalves of Stockton. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gustav Mikan in 1985 and a son in-law, John Gonsalves in 2005. A chapel service will be held Monday November 26, 2007, 10:00 am at Lodi Funeral Home, followed by interment at Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday 12:00-6:00 pm at Lodi Funeral Home.
