Obituary of Gerhardt "Whitey" Lang

Gerhardt James "Whitey" Lang was born December 19, 1939 in Zap, North Dakota to Robert and Freida Lang. He passed away peacefully at home on November 18, 2007. He was 67. Whitey moved to Lodi with his family at the age of 9. He attended Lincoln School and Lodi High School. In 1954 he began working at Stubbs Paint and Body as a Body and Fender Man, he remained in auto body repair for 48 years and enjoyed fabricating custom cars. He was also a Gunsmith and enjoyed hunting, and Trap & Skeet shooting, but his true joy was spending time with his family. Whitey was a member of the Heartland Community Church and the National Rifle Association. He is survived by his children: Darryl Lang of San Diego, and Michael Lang of Lodi, granddaughters: Alexandra and Audrey Lang both of Lodi, sisters: Mary Haupt, Greta Grimes, and Eldora Welch, brother: Leland Lang, and step-sister: Darlene Blair, and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his friends and family at Richmaid, the Omlette House, and the Flying J. He was preceded in death by his parents: Robert and Freida Lang, step-mother: Caroline Haupt-Lang, son: Billy Lang, sister: Viola Easley, brothers: Alvin, Marvin, Wilmer, and Raymond Lang, and step-brothers: Victor, Albert, and Val Haupt Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of his Life on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Heartland Community Church, 651 N. Cherokee Rd, Lodi, CA. 95240. Pastor Chris Chavez will officiate.
