Obituary of Laura Ann Angel

Laura Ann Angel, of Lodi, passed away, her family at her side, on November 12, 2007 at the age of 46. Laura fought a very courageous battle against breast cancer. She was born in Greeley, Colorado on June 5, 1961 to Claude M. and Shirley E. Gardner. She grew up in Keizer, Oregon, attended grade schools there and graduated from Mc Nary High School in 1979. She moved to this area in 1984. On September 25, 1993, she married James Eric Angel in Mendocino. Laura was an inspiring young woman who unselfishly gave of herself to others. She loved to be with her family and friends. She enjoyed camping and traveling, particularly up the California Coast. Laura had a second family at Costco, where she worked as a cashier for twenty years. When her children were born, her passion was her children, and they were the joy and focus of her life. She will be remembered as a very loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to many. Laura is survived by her beloved husband, James Eric Angel of Lodi; two precious children, Ashley Danielle Angel and James Eric Angel, Jr., of Lodi; parents, Claude and Shirley Gardner of Oregon; siblings, Michael (Sandy) Gardner, Kathy Owens, Steven Gardner, John Gardner, Patrick (Betty) Gardner and James Gardner, all of Oregon; parents-in-law, Diana and Cy Thomson of Salida; sister-in-law, Lisa Flynn of Modesto and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services, celebrating Laura's life, will be held on Friday, November 30th at 10:00 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist in Lodi. Committal will be private. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Laura's name to the American Cancer Society, Breast Cancer Research, 207 East Alpine Avenue, Stockton, CA 95204.
