Obituary of Earl David Young

Earl David Young of Lodi, passed away on November 25, 2007 at the age of 68. Earl was born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania on February 6, 1939 to Melvin Leroy and Hazel Elsina Young. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1957-1961. He first came to Long Beach, California when he was stationed in the Navy. He returned to California in 1962, settling in Lodi in 1978. Before his retirement, he worked as a commercial painter. He belonged to the Painters Union in Stockton. Earl enjoyed watching and playing sports of all kinds. He was passionate about the Dodgers and Lakers. He also enjoyed fishing. His best qualities were his great sense of humor and his charm. Most importantly, he loved his family, particularly his grandchildren. Earl is survived by his two children, Mandi Lynn (Rory Chapman, Jr.) Young of Lodi and Marc David (Kristi) Young of Pioneer; two grandchildren, Maxamillian and Mackenzie Chapman; ten siblings, Margaret Miller, Jenny Leech, Albert Young, Charles Young, Sharon Bennett, Robert Young, Larry Young, Sandra Young, Connie Meyer, all of Pennsylvania and Roland Young of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Young and Hazel Young. Friends are invited to a memorial service to celebrate Earl's life Saturday, December 1st at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joachim Catholic Church Parish Hall in Lockeford. Committal will be private.
