Melvin Henry Weller, a long-time resident of Lodi, passed away in Stockton on November 28, 2007 at the age of 76. Mr. Weller was born in Eureka, South Dakota on June 7, 1931 to Henry A. and Alma Weller. He moved with his family to Lodi when he was fifteen. He graduated from Lodi High School. He worked as a security guard for commercial buildings before his retirement. He loved bike riding and collecting bicycles, as well as riding motorcycles. He was an avid gardener and animal lover. Mr. Weller enjoyed dancing, particularly square dancing. He was active in the LOEL Center and a member of The Singles Club, the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia and the Moose Lodge. He is survived by his two daughters, Patricia (Jose) Arechiga of Stockton and Maria (Louie) Villanueba of Lodi; two step-children, Rose Flores of Lodi and Henry (Madeline) Flores of Denver, Colorado; twelve grandchildren, Tashina, Lyle, Henry, Dominic, Ben, Leonard, Frances, Jaimie, Aimee, Raymond, Leesa and Andrew; eight great-grandchildren, Aneesa, Ariel, Dominic, Jr., Naomi Monique, Tiffany, Isaiah, Manuel and Caden; brother, Bruno (Peggy) Weller of Stockton and sister, Helen (Roger) Alder of Reno. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Alma Weller. Friends are invited to visit Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. Services will be held Monday, 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Committal will immediately follow.
