Obituary of Dorothy Clara Switzenberg

Dorothy Clara Switzenberg, of Lodi, passed away on December 2, 2007, at a local hospital. She was born in Ferndale, CA on December 8, 1924, to William and Clara Schlueter. Dorothy graduated from Porterville Union High School in 1942 and moved to Lodi shortly thereafter. She then married Marvin Switzenberg, the love of her life for the next 61 years. Dorothy loved to knit, sew and crochet. She also enjoyed taking trips in the RV with Marvin. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. Most of all, she was a beloved wife and mother who cherished the time she spent with family and friends. She will be dearly missed. Dorothy is survived by her children: Don Switzenberg of Scottsdale, Arizona and Joanne Fisher of Stockton; grandchildren: Jamie Deabler of Stockton, Kearstin Nuckols, Tyson, Thad, Trask, Tanner, and Kessa Switzenberg all of Arizona; 3 great-granddaughters; and dear friend: Shirley Jacobsen. She was preceded in death by her husband: Marvin Switzenberg in 2004 and brothers: Ray and Orville Schlueter. Friends are invited to visit on Thursday, December 6, from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. A Celebration of Dorothy's Life will be held on her 83rd birthday: Saturday, December 8, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Lodi. Committal is private. Donations may be made in Dorothy's name to Shriner's Children's Hospital, 2425 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95817.
