Obituary of Carol Ann Paulin

Please share a memory of Carol to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Carol Ann Paulin, born on May 11, 1939, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, peacefully passed away on August 17, 2024, in Stockton, California, after a prolonged battle with Alzheimer’s/dementia. She was 85 years old.

Carol is survived by her loving husband, Paul; her daughter, Deborah, and her wife, Mel; her son, Matthew, and his wife, Hope; and her cherished grandchildren, Adam and Guy.  She was preceded in death by her mother Constance, father Dominic and sister Barbara.

Carol dedicated 17 years of her life to the University of the Pacific, where she worked in various departments as an executive assistant. Her dedication and hard work allowed both Deborah and Matthew to attend the University, where they both earned degrees.

A woman of deep faith, Carol served as a women's counselor at Quail Lakes Baptist Church for many years. She was a guiding light to numerous members of the congregation, helping them navigate their life challenges. Carol was also a passionate advocate for the sanctity of life. She committed herself to educating expecting mothers on the pros and cons of abortion, often at great personal risk.

In addition to her work and advocacy, Carol was an avid writer. She penned several autobiographical and semi-autobiographical works, leaving a literary legacy that continues to inspire her family. Her love of reading was a gift she passed on to her children, instilling in them a lifelong passion for literature. She enjoyed nurturing and caring for her yard and garden and loved celebrating Christmas and birthdays. Jewelry that sparkled or was from Tiffany endlessly delighted her while black and white clothes were her style. Carol was also passionate about her Italian heritage and traced her genealogy back to the village of San Donato in the province of L’Aquila, which she and Paul visited.

Services to honor Carol's life will be held at Lodi Funeral Home on September 7, 2024, at 11 am.
