Maura Phiou Vannasy passed away on Saturday, August 17th in Lodi, California. She was born July 25, 1947 in Laos to parents, Khampouy and Phin Banyavong; and was the third of seven children. She came to the United States on April 16, 1986. Maura worked as a teacher for ten years and was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. 

 

Maura enjoyed traveling, gardening, and shopping. She will be remembered most for her bright smile, joy for traveling and her love for food. 

 

Maura is preceded in death by her parents, 2 siblings, and her husband Thongphanh Vannasy, who passed in 1994. She is survived by her children, Phouangmaly Phommachan, Vanessa Vannasy, Patricia Vannasy, Sherlyn Vannasy, Patrick Vannasy, and Kevin Vannasy, 13 grandchildren, 4 siblings and 5 great grand children. 

 

A visitation will be held Saturday, August 24th from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home 725 S. Fairmont Avenue, in Lodi. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 25th at 10:30 a.m., also at Lodi Funeral Home, followed by cremation at Sacramento Memorial Lawn, 6100 Stockton Boulevard, in Sacramento.
