Obituary of Dolores Adele Ring

Please share a memory of Dolores to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Dolores Adele Ring of Lodi, California, passed away on August 7, 2024 at the age of 93. She was born on June 26, 1931 in Hobart, Oklahoma. She moved to Lodi at the age of 7 and attended Lodi Schools and graduated from Lodi High in 1949. It was while attending Lodi High that she met my father after colliding with him and literally knocking him off of his feet, as the two teenagers rushed to their next class.

The two sweet hearts were married the following fall and set up house in a tiny apartment on Lower Sac and Harney, which she reminisced about often. This led to a long and happy marriage of 50 years to her highschool sweetheart, and my dad, Raymond Dean Ring or better known by loved ones, as Dino.

Dolores worked 25 plus years at several Lodi restaurants including the well known Lodi establishment, The El Rancho and The Lodi Bowling Alley that housed Jeanette’s Restaurant. She prided herself in knowing the community and served with love. She later became a tax preparer for H and R Block. A job she enjoyed for many of the same reasons, getting to know the community and her regulars. This challenged her wit, stamina and accounting expertise. She served in this field for 29 years.

She was a volunteer and member of the Telephone Pioneers. This allowed her to serve the community further by fingerprinting Lodi Unified students as well as volunteering for the Telephone Pioneer Sports Jamboree annually, for over 20 years. Once again serving the community with her work and encouraging disabled athletes and veterans who were striving to win the medal of their dreams. She enjoyed watching them compete and showing their athletic abilities. She took great pride in her volunteer work and her family will always remember her selflessness and her feisty spirit.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Lena Rawlins of Lodi, and her husband Raymod Dean Ring of Lodi. Dolores is survived by her daughter Lori Ring of Stockton, Michael Ring of Lodi as well as her honorary family members, Lea Stanton Rodriguez (daughter) of Stockton, Michelle Stanton of Stockton (daughter), Carlos Stanton(son), Raymond Stanton (son) Joshua Rodriguez (grandson), Emily Mariah Rodriguez ( great granddaughter), Emma Elizabeth Rodriguez (great-great granddaughter),Raymond Conrad Rodriguez of Stockton (grandson), Jennifer Johanna Rodriguez (granddaughter) of Stockton, Lea Daniella Rodriguez (great granddaughter), Raymond Conrad Rodriguez II (great grandson), Tymothi Justin Rodriguez (grandson), Jenny Rodriguez (granddaughter), Julio Alexis Vega-Castaneda (great grandson), Christian Vega-Castaneda (great grandson), Michael Nathan Rodriguez (grandson) Breanne Rachelle Rodriguez (granddaughter) Ember Aeryn Rodriguez (great granddaughter), Ahri Wren Rodriguez (great granddaughter), Leam Justice Rodriguez (grandson), Christine Rodriguez (granddaughter), Jenae Ross (great granddaughter), and many, many more friends who became family.
