Obituary of Carolyn McCoy
Dr. Carolyn McCoy, 79, went home to the Lord April 29th, 2024. Born the youngest of three, to Wayne and Marjorie McCoy on February 12th, 1945 in Boise, Idaho.
A world traveler, she spent her youngest years in Columbia, South America. Her school years were in several U.S. states, graduating highschool in Riddle, Oregon. As well as earning her doctorate in audiology and masters in speech therapy at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon.
Upon graduating she continued her U.S. tour by joining the National Hearing and Speech Survey in 1968. She spent several years practicing speech therapy at a children’s hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota before teaching audiology at UOP here in California. She then opened her own audiology practice, with offices in Lodi and Tracy.
In her time, Carolyn visited many places. She went to all 50 U.S. states, and was on 5 of the 7 continents, visiting such wonderful places such as Taiwan, Japan, the Caribbean, the Holy Land, Australia, and New Zealand, and a tour of Europe visiting famous cities like Paris and London, and an ancestral home in England.
Upon retiring she continued her travels through study. She researched family history and genealogy, studying the history of God's people, Israel, and the Christian church. She spent time growing in her relationship and knowledge of the Lord; attending bible studies and studies that were appreciated by friends and family.
Carolyn is survived by brother Robert McCoy, and his wife Barbera McCoy, her sister Nancy Carey, a nephew Thomas Carey, two nieces; Marjie Maker, and Amy McCoy and countless cousins and friends that she loved like family.
Memorial service will be held at Lodi Funeral Home, July 15th, 2024 at 12pm with a reception to follow.
