Obituary of Astaire Florence Hunt
Astaire Florence Hunt passed away Friday, March 22nd after a long illness at the age of 85. She was born February 20, 1939 in Lodi, California to parents LeRoy and Florence Hensley. Astaire graduated from Lodi High School and spent time living in Oregon and Arizona. She married her husband James Hersiel Hunt in Martinez, CA and they have been together 48 years.
Astaire worked as an auditor for the Social Security Administration for about 30 years and was a member of the Eagles Club and Moose Lodge during her time in Oregon. She was a smart person and always positive, seeing the good in people that most of us would not. She loved going to the ocean, taking long walks on the beach, gardening, going to yard sales, and she was an excellent photographer. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Astaire was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jeanie Perry. She is survived by her husband, James Hunt; children, Michael Thrush (Cynthia), Anthony Thrush (Cathy), Annette Thrush (Jerry), and Rodney Hunt (Jenifer); grandchildren, Clifford, Audra, Eleana, James, Kayla, and Crystal; great-grandchildren, River, Blake, Bobby, Scarlett, Kendal, Mckenna, Connor, Cheyenne, Emmett, and Wyatt; siblings, Jim Hensley and LeRoy Hensley, Jr., and many more nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 5th at 11:30 a.m. at the Lodi Funeral Home Chapel, 725 S. Fairmont St, in Lodi. The graveside service follow at Lodi Memorial Cemetery, 5750 E. Pine St., in Lodi.
