Obituary of Nancy Jo Rieger
Nancy Jo Rieger, 93 of Lodi passed away on February 7, 2024. Born on March 23, 1930 in Stockton. Nancy was an avid dancer and world traveler. The last 10 years she especially enjoyed cruising several times each year with her son Robin and his wife Faye. She was a diehard San Francisco Giants, 49ers and Sacramento Kings fan.
Born in Stockton, she moved to Vancouver Canada as a baby where she spent her childhood. She returned to Lodi when she entered High School. Nancy and Sheldon were happily married for 59 years until he passed away in 2017. Together they worked, lived and traveled the world while raising their two sons. Even though Nancy was in hospice care since April of 2023, Robin and Faye lovingly cared for her with help from Matthew and Arielle. During this time, she continued to enjoy her great grandchildren, two dogs, many BBQs, wine and dinners with friends. She also enjoyed her 2nd family at the Village Coffee Shop where her sharp wit was always making everyone smile. She wanted so much to see Mistee Jo born, and was filled with joy when she saw pictures of her newest great granddaughter.
Her husband Sheldon of 59 years preceded her in death. She is survived by her two sons, Robin (Faye) and Kevin (Franco). Additionally, she is survived by her two grandsons, Joshua (Ja'h-nika) and Matthew (Arielle) and six great grandchildren Amya, Reagan, Jaxson, Colton, Isaiah and Mistee Jo who was just born Feb. 5th. She is also survived by her stepsister Carol Canepa.
Services will be held Saturday, February 17th at 2:00 P.M. at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S Fairmont Ave, Lodi, CA. Graveside services will be held privately at Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy 99 and Harney Ln, in Lodi, CA.
