I would see Nathan during my prep period breaks at WRHS and he would always have a friendly smile when we chatted. I’m the Army JROTC instructor and we would talk about our military experiences. We were also the school’s Powder Puff opposing football coaches and we’d have some friendly bantering and competition prior to and during the games. I truly miss the good times with him at the Ranch. Rest in peace coach “Nate-Dog”

Nathan was curious and eager to learn. He made a great teacher. He loved learning, as well as enjoyed people. He touched so many lives with his enthusiastic appreciation of knowledge. He was such a unique person. I loved having long conversations with him. He was a great listener. He was always such an important part of our family. He was the only boy in the family for so many years. He was a rock star to all of us. His bright and enthusiastic spirit will be so missed. May his soul be at peace with Papa Boyd, and other people who loved him, who are already in heaven.

A memory we have of Nathan happened when he was in second or third grade. He came to stay with us in Davis while Shirl was on detail. At that time, we had 14 golden retriever puppies. Nathan would help us feed the puppies and take the puppies outside in a wagon. Throughout his life he had many dogs to love. He is now in heaven with many of the dogs he loved.
We remember driving Nathan back to Marine Corp training in San Diego. He was a happy kid, always in a good mood. He was happy about going back to training. He enjoyed being a part of the Marine Corp.
After the Marine Corp, Nathan attended Sacramento State. While at Sac State he worked at Chevy's in Sacramento. A few times we ate at Chevy's, so we could visit him while at work. It was always fun to see his smiling face. He always made us feel important.

I send my condolences to Mr. Moore’s Family. He was one of the best teachers at Weston Ranch High School. Let his children know that they keep his legacy going and be the best version of yourself. That’s what he taught me my senior year when I had him for History.

You will be missed! I was your student over 10 years ago and I still talked about you all the time. I remember your memory was spotty so after taking your class I left for a year and when I came back I was sure you would have forgotten me but the second you saw me you were like “heyy bell right?” Ever since then we said hi every time we passed each other in the hall. You came down to earth and did EXACTLY what you were suppose to do! I’m so proud to have met you and you have the most beautiful rest!

Mr. Moore was a beloved history teacher and cross country coach of mine during my years in high school. The news of his passing fills me with profound sadness, and my deepest condolences extend to his cherished loved ones and to all whose lives were touched by his extraordinary presence. His demeanor and Marine-like spirit left an enduring impact in my life. The values he instilled in his students, myself included, have become an integral part of our character, shaping us not only academically and athletically but as individuals striving for the very best within ourselves. During this challenging time, my thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Moore's loved ones, hoping they may find solace in the knowledge that his legacy continues to thrive in the hearts of those he profoundly influenced. Semper Fidelis, brother!

Growing up we spent so much time together my parents called him their 4th son and there are few people who had more impact on my life than Nate. I can not count how many times we got in trouble together and I count it a blessing that I have the amazing memories that I have with him. Even though we moved away from each other I never stopped thinking about him and telling stories about him.

From the moment I was born you were my best friend. It’s hard for me to think of one event that you were not there. I always thought we would be back together one day, watching our grandkids play together and laughing at the things our kids were doing- knowing we did the same things. I love you so much, and miss you every single day.

Nate or Moore as I knew him was one of my senior Marines. He always had a smile on his face. That man taught me a lot and is in a lot of ways responsible for me coming home from Afghanistan and Iraq alive.
