Obituary of Arthur Le Roy Paullus
Arthur “Art” Le Roy Paullus passed away Sunday, September 17th in Stockton, California. He was born August 5, 1941 to parents, Ward and Frieda Paullus, in Eureka and has lived in San Joaquin County the last 14 years. Art served his country in the United States Navy, stationed in various areas of the South Pacific, including the Philippines, Hong Kong, Japan, and Vietnam. He was proud of his military service and was active with the Stockton Veterans of Foreign Wars. As a civilian, he worked as a superintendent for the Contra Costa County Water Utility for 20 years and was on the water board for the City of Stockton.
Art enjoyed country dancing and loved traveling all his life - he and wife, Pat, toured the U.S. in their motorhome, and visited countries in Europe. Art went to school to be an engineer and liked to craft and build things. He could make just about anything and didn’t need a given schematic or plan. He was always very smart and knowledgeable and a great source of historical information on a tool or device and how it was made.
Art is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Patsy Paullus; their children, Franklin Paullus and Kimberly Paullus (Jerry Walter); grandchildren, Melissa Federico (Joe), Haylie Walter, Chris Paullus, and Sheadun Bloxham; and great-grandchildren, Sammy, Daniel, Eli, Zuzu, and Satera.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 27th from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Ave., in Lodi. The funeral service with military honors will follow on Thursday, September 28th at 10:30 a.m. at the same location.
