Obituary of Pietro Lopresti
Lodi resident, Pietro Lopresti passed away Sunday, August 20th at the age of 77. He was born December 6, 1945 to parents Antonino and Crocifissa Lopresti in Sicily, Italy and immigrated to the United States in 1969.
Pietro had a strong faith in his church and community as a parishioner of St. Stephen the First Martyr Catholic Church in Sacramento, and Our Lady of Sorrows Chapel in Thornton. He worked as a carpenter, did maintenance for Lodi School District, and proudly owned and operated Maria’s Italian Restaurant with his wife, in Lodi.
Pietro was always very social and loved to be around people. He liked to talk with everyone, which made the family restaurant his favorite place to be. Pietro was never someone who liked to sit at home, he was always active with his family, grandchildren, and community. He’ll be remembered for his great sense of humor, countless “dad” jokes, and will be truly missed.
Pietro was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maria Lopresti in 2016, and his siblings, Carmelo Lopresti and Antonia Lopresti. He is survived by his children, Daniela Deluca (Christopher) and Vanessa Meier (Stephen); grandchildren, Stefania Deluca, Gabriela Deluca, Ariana Meier, Austin Meier, and Michela Lopresti; siblings, Benedetto Lopresti, Tommaso Lopresti, and Salvatore Lopresti; and many more dear family and friends.
A Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a Recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29th at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Ave., in Lodi.
