Obituary of Edward Eugene Greenmyer
Edward Eugene Greenmyer (AKA Boker) was born March 3rd 1944, to Edmond and Ruby Greenmyer at Buchannon Hospital on Pine St. in Lodi. He went to be with the Lord on August 8th, 2023.
He moved to Oklahoma and then Texas as a young child, returning to Lodi at 5 years old. That’s where he met Donna Adams, who would become the love of his life.
He went to work for Rivinius Market at 18 and married Donna at 19. He was also a Woodbridge volunteer Firefighter at the time, until moving to Sacramento for a couple of years, where he worked for Farmer’s Rice co-op.
He was drawn back to Lodi and worked a few different jobs as well as farming, eventually finding his career with San Joaquin County Mosquito and Vector Control at 31. He retired at 62 as a supervisor with 31 years of service.
Ed was an avid sports fan who specifically loved the Steelers and the Yankees. One of his greatest passions in life was NHRA drag racing. He was also very active in Woodbridge Church as a Deacon.
He was the 5th of ten children, preceded in death by his parents as well as sisters Esther and Lois, brothers Tommy, Jimmy, Kenny and Jerry. Also preceded in death by many beloved nieces and nephews. He is survived by older sister, Oma, younger sister Karen and older brother Bobby.
He was a true family man and an amazing father to son Tim (Toni) and daughter Lisa (Rick). The apples of his eye were his grandchildren, Chris, Adam and Asa (Tim) and Ryan (Lisa). However, there was no one that could compare to his great-granddaughter, Eden Elizabeth (Chris and Aubrey).
Ed (Boker) was all about family and friends and the relationships that he had or could make. He had never met a stranger!
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 16th at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont, Lodi CA.
