Obituary of Aurora Sienega Sanchez
Woodbridge resident, Aurora Sienega Sanchez passed away July 13th, at her home, surrounded by her family; she was 94. Aurora was born March 28, 1929 in Superior, Arizona to parents Bernardo and Maria Tapia. She worked as a supervisor for Tri Valley Cannery in Thornton for 52 years.
Aurora was a parishioner of St. Anne’s Catholic Church and a member of the Daughters of Isabella, the Legion of Mary, the Woodbridge Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and her local Teamsters Union #601. She loved to dance, cook, travel, and to go bowling, in her younger years. Most of all, she liked spending time with her family and babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Aurora was confident and stern, but still caring. She was a role model for her family and always gave sound guidance and advice when needed.
Aurora was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Guadalupe Armijo, and her husbands, Michael Sienega and David Sanchez. She is survived by her four sons, Rudy Sienega, Michael Sienega; David Sanchez, Jr., Thomas Sanchez; six daughters Diana Gonzales, Irene Sandoval, Mary Helen Moore, Martha Sanchez, Andrea Madrid, and Alicia Peralta; brother, Bernardo Tapia; brother-in-law, Robert Sienega; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as her neighbors and close friend, Marcia Dodd..
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 26th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Recitation of the Rosary to begin at 6:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Ave., in Lodi. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 27th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 215 W Walnut St, in Lodi, with a committal to follow at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery, 719 E Harding Way, in Stockton.
