Obituary of Thomas James Carey
Tom J. Carey, 89 of Lodi, passed away on June 26, 2023 in Lodi. Tom was born in Wapato, WA to Art and Louella Carey on Feb 16,1934. He grew up and went to school in the little town of White Swan, WA. He was raised on a farm where he learned ranching and farming. Later he became a cowboy and was quite good at bull riding and bronc riding, with many wins in the RCA. He also became a logger at an early age in Eureka, CA where he met and married Pauline Moody. He was a veteran and served in the Army from 1956-1958. After the log- ging industry slowed, they moved to Lodi in 1960, where he became a Farm Labor Contractor for 35 years with his wife Pauline. Later he cut and sold firewood to many citi- zens of Lodi and the sur- rounding area. He enjoyed deep sea fishing, gold mining, 4th of July unions with family in Washington State and shooting the breeze with friends, neighbors and anyone who came by. He will be dearly missed by his family. He is survived by daughter, Debbie (Wayne) Fazzino of Nevada, sons; Ken (Lora) Carey, Todd (Shelley) Carey, of Lodi, stepsons Leo (Georgia) Case, of Ohio, Larry (Maggie) Case, Dennis Case of Indiana, Randy (Linda) Case of Lodi, grandchildren; Triston, Justin, Jackie, Laura, Josh, Greg, Darcy, Erin, Dennis, Jason, Jennifer, Leah, Joel, great grand- children; Austin, Christian, Aaliyah, Micah, Elissa, Logan, Jocelyn, Kaelyn, Nick, Eli, Grayson, and many nieces and neph- ews. He is preceded in death by his wife Pauline, his parents Art and Louella, his sisters; Evelyn, Nadine and brothers; Ed, Dan, and Mike and grand- sons, Clinton and Darren. Gravesite service is Wednesday, July 5th, at 10:30 a.m. at Lodi Memorial Cemetery. Reception to follow at Woodbridge Grange Hall.
