Obituary of Marilyn Just

Marilyn P. Just, 85, went home to be with the Lord on November 1, 2022. She was born on March 14, 1937 in Kidder County Bunker Township, ND to Christian and Mary Junker.

Her early childhood was spent in both Hardin, MT and in Kidder County, ND.

Marilyn moved from a farm in Kidder County to Dawson, ND in 1953 where she helped run the family business (Gas Station & Cafe). After her father took ill, Marilyn completed a mail order course to obtain her High School Diploma. Marilyn married Raymond Just in 1960. Marilyn and her husband moved to Lodi, CA in 1961.

Marilyn was a lifetime member of Emanuel Lutheran joining in 1966. She spent time camping with her family traveling the United States and Canada. One of her favorite activities was baking. She was particularly noted for her prune kuchens. Marilyn enjoyed cooking and sharing her dishes with her neighbors. She was also a very skilled seamstress. Marilyn often volunteered to assist at the Loel center. She also babysat many children in the neighborhood.

Marilyn is survived by son Randy Just, Marysville, CA, daughter Kimberly (Mark) Riggle, Lockeford, CA, granddaughter Heather Riggle, Reno, NV, sisters Lorraine Giese, Steele, ND, Sharlene Franz, Gillette, WY, brothers Eugene Junker Gillette, WY and Larry Junker, Jamestown, ND, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Just, and parents. Marilyn was married to Raymond Just 49 years before he passed away.

Friends are invited to visit on Thursday, November 10, 2022, Noon – 4:30 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home (725 S. Fairmont, Lodi). A service will he held Friday, November 11, 2022, 11 a.m. at Lodi Funeral Home with Pastor Sorensen officiating. A virtual register may be signed at lodifuneralhome.com where memories may be shared.
