Obituary of Mary Ellen Meyers
Beloved mother, grandmother, great-mother, sister, friend, and buddy, Mary Ellen Meyers returned to her heavenly home on October 20th, 2022, a few weeks shy of her 81st birthday.
Mary Ellen began gracing the world with her presence on November 24th, 1941, in Stockton, California. She graduated from Stagg High School and enjoyed a variety of occupations through her years. However, as loved ones will attest, her greatest employment came as a bringer of smiles and joy to others as a representative of Jesus Christ. As a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mary Ellen made sure her days were spent in gospel study and kind service to fellow saints and neighbors.
While she was still in high school, Mary Ellen met the love of her life, Billy John Meyers. They were married on July 6th, 1958 and were later solemnized in the Oakland Temple. While her family is saddened that she is not as near as she once was, they rejoice in the knowledge that she is reunited with her beloved after 33 years apart.
Along with Bill, Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Lee Sauer, and a grandson, Grant Meyers.
She is survived by her daughter, Lyn (Roy) Williams of Boise, ID; son, Nolan (Carmen Luz) Meyers of Lodi; sisters, Carol (Butch) Tamulonis of Banning, Sue Garrett of Riverside, Delaine (John) Finlay of Enoch, UT, Diane Kraft of Mojave Valley, AZ; grandsons, Russell Stoddart of Sacramento, Ryan (Adabel) Stoddart of Boise, ID, Adam Meyers of Salt Lake City, UT, Jacob Meyers of Rexburg, ID; granddaughters, Camila Cabrera of Casa Blanca, Chile, Loreto (Camden) Smith of Clearwater, FL, Heather Williams of Stockton, Heidi (Anthony) Cabrera; great-granddaughters Audrey Stoddart of Boise, ID, Royal Stoddart of Pleasanton, Emilia and Isabella Smith of Clearwater, FL; great-grandson Hunter.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday November 2nd at 10 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel at 1510 W. Century Blvd, with internment to follow at Lodi Memorial Cemetery. For those who cannot attend, contact the family for a Zoom link to observe the services.
God be with you until we meet again, Ga.
