Obituary of Betty Lou Maple
Betty was born in Arkansas, and her family moved to California central valley when she was 3. She grew up in Thornton and attended Galt High School where she took chorus and really began singing. She taught herself to play the piano when she was 9 years old, on a neighbor’s piano, until she began playing in Woodbridge Church where Joe Jackson, the guitar player helped her with chords so she could be the church pianist at 10 years old. That is where she met and married James Daymond Maple at 17 years old. She was church musician, Bible teacher, and song leader for several churches her entire life. She travelled and sang in the Good News Duet with Esther Wise and it was the highlight of her life. She sang at countless weddings and funerals always. Her joy was talking Bible with her Daddy and playing instruments with her family. She is an outstanding lead guitarist, organist, pianist, and accordion player. She has touched many lives with her gospel music in, not only churches, but also numerous Bluegrass Festivals, care homes and outreach ministries. She strived to share the gospel with everyone she met, mostly family. She reflected the glory of God in her daily walk.
She is survived by her children Julie Lawson (Dennis), Benjamin Daniel Maple (Sharon) and Melinda Sue Rowley (Pernell), Grandchildren: Angela Stroble, Marla Macheel, Sarah Acosta, Jennifer Pilcher, David Newhall II, Daymond Geer, Jaclyn Butler, Holly Rose Holmes, Jamie Rowley, Cody Maple, 29 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, her only sister Mary Breckenridge, her brothers Allen Daniel, Lawrence Daniel, and Charles Daniel
